Our pool mats are made of heavy vinyl that stays in place by water pressure and the weight of the material. What type of pool can a Poolmat be used in? Our mats are designed for use in all types of flat surface pools include concrete, gunite, fiberglass, vinyl, plaster, steel and other non-textured surfaces. PebbleTec finishes and textured tile will allow water and air to get underneath the mat and interrupt the vacuum-like suction effect that holds it in place. What are the mats made of? Our poolmats are made of 1/8" thick vinyl, the same kind that is used for vinyl pool liner. Easy 1-2-3 Installation! Step 1 Unroll your poolmat and let it sit out in the sun for 1 - 2 hours to relax the material. Step 2 Place your poolmat in the water and let it sink to the floor. Position as needed. Step 3 Using your hands, feet or a blunt, long-handled pool tool (like a soft pool brush), apply pressure and flatten the mat as if you were applying a sticker. You'll want to smooth all air and water out from underneath the mat to create the cling effect that keeps it in place. Apply a bit of pressure across the entire surface of the mat to smooth out any residual air or water. How long will my mat last in the pool? Our mats are printed with UV resistant ink that will last for several seasons in your pool. Can I use my Poolmat in a shallow pool? Poolmats are not intended for use in shallow water less than 3' deep. Poolmats are not toys and you should not use a poolmat where children can touch it. Will pool graphics get in the way of cleaning? Should I remove the mat to vacuum my pool? We do recommend removing your pool mat if you are performing thorough, in depth pool cleaning. For routine vacuuming, you can leave it in the pool. You may, however have to readjust the mat once you are done as they have a tendency to shift slightly if they are nudged repeatedly. Will Poolmats interfere with automatic pool cleaners? Automatic vacuums and pool cleaners such as the Polaris cleaner will not be affected by pool mats. We have tested them with our pool cleaners and they simply continue on their path around the mats. In-floor cleaning systems that employ water jets are typically not compatible with our mats while in use. The force created by the jets can create air pockets and allow water to get underneath, causing your pool mat to shift. When will my pool mat get here? Standard stock pool mats usually ship within 3-5 business days of your order. All mats are custom made to order. Caring For Your Poolmat You want your pool mat to last a long time and avoid wear and tear so keep these tips in mind. Remove your mat from the pool when it is not being displayed.To store, let it dry and store flat in a cool dry area.For long-term (ie: winter) storage, you can roll your mat with the printed side facing out and store it in a cool dry place.Winterizing helps keep your mat in good shape and extends mat life. You may have to roll in the opposite direction to flatten your mat before placing it back in the pool. Cleaning & Safety Information Do not use abrasives or chemicals to clean your pool mat. Mild soap and a soft cloth will work just fine. Always use caution in or around swimming pool areas. Keep out of reach of children. As with all pool safety, your new pool mat should be handled by adults only (or with supervision). Our pool mats are not to be used as floatation devices. They are intended for decorative purposes only and should not be used in any other manner. Poolmats are slippery when wet. Do not leave your mat out on the ground or around the pool area where people (especially children) can slip and fall. Poolmats are not intended for use in pools less than 4' deep.
